I agree with Ime below and can recommend Sandgate Community
Centre, 153 Rainbow Street, Sandgate, which is a couple of minutes walk from
the train station.
They can certainly accommodate the numbers you require and
recently had a giant screen (130”), projector and surround sound
installed.
They can organise whatever beverage/bar service you require.
The contact there is Helen James on 3869 3244, and I would suggest you
give them as much advance warning as possible.
By all means use my name as an introduction.
Good luck!
Best regards,
John

The best places to try are the community halls, majority
may not have the data projector facility but you can try. Just google Community Hall Brisbane and a whole list of
community halls will show up. They're very reasonable to hire as we're a
Polynesian culture dancing group and we've hired out a meeting room for
dancing practices for $20.00. I explained to the lady that it is a kids
cultural dance group we don't charge fees for dancing classes like
conventional dancing schools and she was very flexible and suggested $20.00
for a session of about 3 hours on a Saturday. Good luck on your mission! Regards Ime
I know that the Banyo Bowls Club Inc (07) 3267 5250 has a
large dining/meeting room which will suit 50+ people. Unfortunately
they don't have a data projector. Chris, thanks a bunch. It's
been added to our list of consideration. On Mon, Aug 3, 2009 at 11:39 AM, Chris Hood <[address removed]>
