Main talk: Graph Engine for MySQL, MariaDB and Drizzle

We all have to deal with hierarchies from time to time... menu trees, categories, organisational hierarchies. If it's a simple tree there are a few methods that make it possible to access in a single SQL query, but three are serious limitations. And if it's not a simple tree, there's just no way. How do you walk a "friend of a friend" graph structure? The GRAPH engine can do all this and more without breaking a sweat.

Note: it's very new stuff (Arjen just had a limited prototype last year), but quite possibly you'll be able to get your hands on a MySQL server with graph engine before the meeting (using OurDelta builds) to try it out! You'll also be among the very first people to play with it.
